INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAMP

Here you take a break from everyday life, here you can relax. Go fishing in a fishing boat or have a barbecue around the campfire and follow the path of the moon. You can swim in the lake or explore the four islands in canoes. Observe extraordinary animals or listen to their varied calls while reading a book on the porch swing right by the lake. Or you can enjoy the wonderful sunrise over the opposite island from the campfire pit and marvel at the perfect reflection of the forest on the smooth, dark water. A natural wonder that we can highly recommend and offers great impressions for photos.

Sunrise Beach Camp is one of two properties on the entire Four Island Lake that has a beautiful natural sandy beach. The lake with its four islands is located in the south of Nova Scotia/Canada. A beautiful mixed forest with a large proportion of deciduous trees frames the camp, which is gently embedded in nature. You can swim without any problems during the summer. The water temperature is pleasant as the lake is only 2 to 3 meters deep. During the Indian Summer in September and October, the deciduous forest at Sunrise Beach Camp offers an impressive play of colors.

In the two lovingly prepared and fully equipped campers with a view of the lake you have all the comforts of comfortable camping. In order to enjoy the comfort, we recommend them for up to 4 people each. That means you can use the Sunrise Beach Camp altogether with up to 8 people - that's what we designed it for. The outdoor area and outdoor equipment can also be used by up to 8 people. A whirlpool right on the lake is certainly one of the highlights of this camp. This also includes the two canoes and the rowing/fishing boat, the octagonal picnic table and the porch swing at the campfire area and the dining table by the caravans.

Speaking of which: Do you feel like fishing? The existing 3-person fishing rowing boat with its 4 rod holders and anchor gives you the chance to fish delicious bass, pike or eels from the lake or river. It's no problem to get fishing equipment in the area.
With the two 3-person canoes you can paddle on the lake or to the islands.

At the rear end of the property, a narrow footpath and boardwalk leads directly to a river that flows into the neighboring Hunter Lake. In the landscape during the river trip there is reminiscent of wild, romantic jungle expeditions through a breathtaking biotope. You can treat yourself to the same spectacle when the water level is high on another nearby river that flows from Four Island Lake into the Second Briar Lake. Both destinations can be reached directly from the property by canoe and are worth seeing more than once.

Animal lovers will also get their money's worth at Four Island Lake. For example, during our three-week stay on the property/lake in 2023, we were able to observe a bald eagle, buzzards, hummingbirds, deer, porcupines, rabbits and squirrels.

The Sunrise Beach Camp campfire site is in an exposed location in a slightly elevated clearing directly on the water. In the evening it is beautifully framed with the warm light of a long chain of lights. You can use the grill to prepare vegetables, meat or the fish, you caught during the day. Or you can enjoy a crackling campfire with the firewood stacked right next to it.

Treat yourself to this private paradise and let yourself be infected by our own enthusiasm!
